Gateway courses — such as English, mathematics, biology, and chemistry — are critical to students’ academic progress but have often been a challenge when it comes to student success. Faculty play a critical role in shaping the student experience, yet we know that even the most dedicated educators face systemic barriers when it comes to redesigning the courses that matter most.

Michigan College Access Network, in partnership with Almy Education and Sova Solutions, is hosting a one-day, in-person convening focused on exploring evidence-based best practices in gateway course redesign and an in-depth look at the upcoming Gateway Course Redesign Faculty Academy.

Designed by faculty, for faculty, this event brings together educators and institutional leaders from across Michigan who are committed to transforming gateway courses as a strategy for advancing student success and institutional excellence.
